1 cup sugar 1 cup water 10 sprig of mint/thyme or what ever herbs you would like to infuse the syrup with. This is optional. Equipment 1 pot 1 heat proof spectacular or spoon measuring cups/spoons |
Direction
In a sauce pan or small pot, add water and sugar. Heat on high and let boil for about 5 minutes, Stirring often. Reduce heat to medium/low to reach a slow simmer. Simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes or until the liquid becomes the consistency of Maple syrup. Remove from heat. Add herbs or infuser at this point, if you would like to infuse the syrup. The herbs should be infused for at least 30 minutes and up to 12 hours. Store in air tight container - can last in the fridge for up to a week. Can be used in desserts, cocktails or other recipes that requires simple syrup. |
